COLLIN RECOGNIZES OUTSTANDING STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS

May 5, 2005 - Collin County Community College District (Collin) announced its recognized student organization awards for 2004-2005. These awards are given to students or organizations which have shown outstanding community or college service.

The outstanding student organization awards for 2004-2005 are:

Outstanding Student Organization

Hospitality and Culinary Student Association

Outstanding New Student Organization

Political Action Committee

Outstanding Philanthropic Project

Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association for “Give Kids a Smile Day”

Outstanding Student Organization Officer

Siulan Thomas (The Colony) of the Political Action Committee

Outstanding Student Organization Member

Melina Chew( Plano) of the Hospitality and Culinary Student Association

Outstanding Student Organization Advisor

Psychology Professor Jennifer O’Loughlin-Brooks of Psi Beta

Shining Star awards were also given to several faculty advisors to student organizations, including professor Elaine Boski-Wilkinson for Education Connection, Amina El Ashmawy for the Muslim Student Association, and Damir Somic for OUT.
