Health Information Center Schedules Fall Workshops
September 1, 2005 – The Collin County Community College District (Collin) Consumer Health Information Center wants to put health information at one’s fingertips.
The center will host the Health Information Program, a series of workshops instructing community members on how to use resource materials and the Internet to find health information.
The first workshop is titled “Health Information @ Your Fingertips,” and will be presented twice at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20 and 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. Both workshops will be at the McKinney Memorial Public Library.
“Health Information @ Your Fingertips” will focus on the Consumer Health Information Center’s purpose, location and its many resources. The center, located at the Central Park Campus Learning Resource Center, 2200 W. University Drive in McKinney, provides a number of resources including Internet databases and links, medical journals, videos, brochures and books.
The Health Information Program includes a workshop every month through December including “Prescription for Success: Finding Health Information Online” in October; and “Leaving a Legacy: My Family Health Portrait Project” in November and December.
All the workshops are free.
