Collin Opens Its Doors During Academic Showcase
September 23, 2005 -- Behind door No. 1 is the Academic Showcase, an open house hosted by Collin County Community College District.
The free event is set from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 3, at the Preston Ridge Campus Event Center, 9700 Wade Blvd. in Frisco.
Academic Showcase is an opportunity for high school students and their parents to gather information about college.
Attendees are invited to come and go as they please and attend any number of workshops, which will provide information about college admissions, scholarships and financial aid. Campus tours will be available along with opportunities to meet Collin faculty.
Representatives and information from Collin’s many academic departments also will be on hand to answer questions and give parents and students something to think about before they begin their higher education.
Also, there will be a “Lunch and Learn” session with convergence technology, which entails the combination of voice, data and video in a single network in homes or businesses, and information about online classes and Weekend College.
