Adult Literacy, College Prep Open House Scheduled Aug. 26
August 11, 2006 - Individuals seeking more information about adult literacy and college preparation should attend an open house Saturday, Aug. 26.
The department of Developmental reading and Academic and Personal Enrichment will host the event from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Central Park Campus Library, 2200 W. University Drive, McKinney.
The purpose of the event is to create an awareness of classes offered at the campus and to help with adult literacy needs and college preparation.
The free event is open to the public and registration is not required.
Recent high school graduates, adults seeking to advance their career or who want to see if college can help them achieve their career goals are encouraged to attend. Brief summaries and demonstrations of reading and study skills classes will be offered, in addition to an overview of the college registration process.
