Wireless Internet Available At Collin Campuses
August 28, 2006 - Students and visitors can now surf the net wirelessly at Collin County Community College District.
Free wireless Internet is available at the Central Park Campus in McKinney, the Preston Ridge Campus in Frisco and the Spring Creek Campus and Courtyard Center for Professional and Economic Development, both in Plano.
CougarLANd is an unsecured Internet connection and most laptop computers will detect the signal. Through a series of steps, students and visitors can surf the World Wide Web as long as their device has a supported and recently updated anti-virus program.
In case the user's device does not automatically detect the wireless signal, manual instructions are available at each campuses' bookstores or information centers. Also, instructions are available at www.collin.edu under "Current Students."
