College Hosts 9/11 Ceremonies, Fire Academy To Participate in City Event

September 8, 2006 - Collin County Community College District will host several events in remembrance of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Memorial events will take place on the Central Park, Preston Ridge and Spring Creek campuses and the Courtyard Center for Professional and Economic Development at 11:45 a.m., Monday, Sept. 11, at each sites' flagpole areas.

The college's fire academy class No. 36 will participate in the Central Park Campus event, in addition to a separate ceremony at the new McKinney Public Safety Administration Building across from Central Park Campus at 8:30 a.m.

The formal ceremony will be conducted by the McKinney police and fire departments and the Collin County sheriff's department. The public is welcome to this event.

Collin County Community College District (Collin) serves more than 40,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs.
