College Helps Human Resource Professionals in Fall Course
September 11, 2006 - Human resource professionals can further their career at Collin County Community College District (Collin).
The college's Continuing Education department has scheduled a Professional in Human resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certification Examination Preparation course for the fall semester.
The course runs from Tuesday, Sept. 26-Tuesday, Dec. 12 and totals 12 sessions and 36 hours overall. Classes are Tuesdays from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Courtyard Center for Professional and Economic Development, 4800 Preston Park Boulevard in Plano.
Outcomes of the course will help students demonstrate test specifications in strategic management, workforce planning and employment, human resource development, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, occupational health, safety and security.
The course is offered in cooperation with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as study material for the certification examinations administered by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). This course is not a substitute for the certification examination, and participants who wish to take the SPHR examination must apply through a separate application form.
