Congress passed legislation naming Sept. 17 Constitution Day and requiring all educational institutions that receive federal funding to hold an educational program pertaining to the U.S. Constitution. The purpose of the law was to remind American citizens of the birth of the U.S. government, the importance of the Constitution, the ideas held within the document and how those ideas mold the country and its citizens.

Collin County Community College District serves more than 41,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs.
