New Dean Named To McKinney Campus

September 18, 2006 - Collin County Community College District (Collin) recently added a new member to its administrative team.

Brenda Carter, McKinney, was named the dean of Academic Affairs at the college's Central Park Campus, 2200 W. University Drive, McKinney.

Carter holds a master's of science degree in educational psychology from Mississippi State University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Louisiana Tech University. Previously, Carter was dean of Student Support Services and Human Development at Cedar Valley College.

"I wanted to come to Collin County because of it's excellent academic reputation and its national reputation in regards to service learning and learning communities," Carter said. "The district is experiencing growth in its student population and there are wonderful opportunities."

Collin County Community College District (Collin) serves more than 40,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs. The only public college in the county, Collin is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development.
