Auteur Series Plays 'The Crying Game'
October 25, 2006 - The Collin County Community College District Auteur Film Series will present "The Crying Game" Thursday, Nov. 9.
The free screening is open to the public in support of this year's theme, "Fools, Cons and Liars: Trickster Characters in Film."
The screening is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Spring Creek Campus THE ARTS gallery, Room A175, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway. Following the film, a panel discussion led by Collin faculty and staff will take place, discussing the themes of the movie. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and seating is limited.
"The Crying Game" was directed by Neil Jordan and runs 112 minutes. The film revolves around Fergus, a volunteer with the Irish Republican Army, and Jody, a kidnapped British solider, forge an unlikely friendship. Fergus moves to London and begins to see Jody's lover, Dil, who is unaware of Fergus' affiliation. However, Dil has her own secrets.
The film is rated R and some material may not be suitable for all audiences.
