Fine Arts, Technology, Healthcare Careers Showcased at Collin College Multi-Day Events
May 25, 2007 – High school students can explore a multitude of career opportunities during a four-day, three-campus event at Collin College.
The Summer Showcase allows high school students an opportunity to get a closer look into a variety of careers split into four days on each of the college’s three campuses. The events are free.
- “Scrubs” is set from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday-Tuesday, June 11-12 at the Central Park Campus, 2200 W. University Drive in McKinney. Keeping true to its title, the event will explore the college’s healthcare programs with a simulated disaster scenario with hands-on opportunities for attendees.
- “Hubs” breaks down the many areas of study involving technology and discovering the many careers that are hot now and will continue to grow in the future. This event is from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, at the Preston Ridge Campus, 9700 Wade Blvd., in Frisco.
- From 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Thursday, June 14 at the Spring Creek Campus, the world of fine arts will be on display. Students interested in the fine arts -- dance, art, theatre, music, photography, graphic design, animation and more -- are encouraged to explore the opportunities at Collin College and discover that the fine arts does not necessarily mean performing. The campus is located at 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.
