Gallery Hosts Viewpoints Winner Exhibit, 'Miosolo'

Mirtha Aertker’s mix of raku, metal, found objects and digital collages resulted in taking the Best of Show honor at last year’s Viewpoints juried exhibition.

June 1, 2007 – The Best of Show now has her own show. Mirtha Aertker, of Allen, the Best of Show artist at Collin College’s “Viewpoints 2006,” will host “MíoSolo” Monday, June 4-Friday, June 29, at THE ARTS gallery, located at the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.

Aertker’s unique style combines raku, welded metal and found objects, coupled with digital collage compositions.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. A reception will be held on Thursday, June 7 at 6 p.m. at the gallery.

THE ARTS gallery summer hours are Monday-Wednesday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Thursday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
