Seven Students Selected to SMU Pre-admission Program

September 5, 2007 -- Seven Collin College students were accepted into the Southern Methodist University (SMU) pre-admission program.

The program is a partnership that Collin College has with SMU to provide a seamless transfer of credits for those qualified students who are interested in earning their bachelor's degree at SMU after finishing their first two years at Collin College.

The students are: Matt Lagos (Plano); Ceci U (Plano); Yousif Rashid (Allen); Carina Jones (Allen); Chloe Longstreet (Frisco); Maggie Fox (Garland); and Penina Sendawula (Frisco).

A reception to honor the students will take place in October.

The Collin College/SMU pre-admission program provides many perks for the accepted students including access to SMU advisors, scholarship opportunities, tickets to lectures, a DART pass, access to the SMU library, a discount to the SMU computer store and more.

Collin College has entered similar agreements with Baylor University, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas Tech University, Texas Women s University, The University of Texas at Dallas and the University of North Texas.
