Collin SBDC Hosts Seminar For New, Veteran Business Owners
September 13, 2007 - Established business owners or those wanting to get their foot in the door are welcome to an upcoming Collin SBDC seminar on maximizing one's profit.
"Shortcuts of Profitability -- Techniques to Increase Business Productivity and Maximize Your Bottom Line" is set from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 28, at the Courtyard Center for Professional and Economic Development, 4800 Preston Park Blvd., in Plano.
Attendees will learn effective ways to streamline online marketing strategies; how to maximize the power of search engines; technology tricks to save time and produce jaw-dropping results; methods to boost professional image; and quick and easy strategies for effective e-mail marketing that will grow your business.
The featured speakers are:
Vickie Evans has been providing personal technology coaching since 1997. She is certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor (Office 2003) and is a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist for Office 2007. Through her company RedCape, Evans and her staff provide clients with the knowledge they need, when they need it, to maximize their productivity and efficiency through just-in-time technology solutions and coaching. In addition to managing RedCape, Ms. Evans delivers time saving technology tips and tricks presentations and classes across the country to business professionals, celebrity and personal assistants, professional groups and associations.
Derick Schaefer is a 15-year veteran of the business information technology industry specializing in Internet marketing. In his career, Schaefer has consulted for enterprise organizations including McDonald's, Sears, Roebuck & Co, HSBC, Occidental Petroleum and Texas Instruments. His career includes employment at Cambridge Technology Partners, RPG's Zensar Technologies, and a 10 year stint at the Microsoft Corporation. While at Microsoft, Schaefer spent five years in Microsoft Consulting Services in both Dallas and Chicago consulting with enterprise customers and partners. For the next 5 years he served in the leadership team of Microsoft's Enterprise and Partner Group (EPG) as the Worldwide Director of Services and Technology Sales for Microsoft's coveted Global Accounts Division.
Julie Niehoff, regional development director of Constant Contact, has more than 15 years in communications, specializing in technology marketing. In her role at Constant Contact, Niehoff facilitates seminars and workshops for small business and organizations around the state of Texas. She was formerly director of interactive marketing for the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau. She later launched her own successful consulting business and co-founded an online resource website for event planners. Her primary focus is on helping small businesses, associations and organizations incorporate technology into their marketing plans, finding creative, affordable, effective strategies for building effective relationships with their customer and member base.
