Collin College Staff Accepted into Leadership Programs

September 28, 2007 - Four Collin College administrators will hone their leadership skills in local programs this year.

During 2007-08, Bill Blitt, dean of business, information and engineering technologies, will participate in Leadership Frisco; Sharon Blakeman, director ACCESS, will participate in Leadership Allen; Gaye Cooksey, dean of fine arts, will participate in Leadership Plano; and Bobbie Long, executive director of the Central Park Campus Learning Resource Center, will participate in the Northern Collin County Leadership Program.

All four leadership programs strive to instill qualities of community involvement, awareness, civic engagement, volunteerism and personal growth. The four honorees were nominated and had to be accepted into their respective programs.

Collin College serves more than 46,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs. The only public college in the county, Collin College is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development.
