College Leadership Academy Seeks Applicants
November 13, 2007 - Collin College is looking for qualified students to apply for the spring semester Student Leadership Academy (SLA) course, LEAD 2301.
Applications are available now at www.collin.edu/sla. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008.
Only 25 students will be selected for the unique course that is designed to encourage leadership, integrity, professional development, scholarship and service.
SLA offers an in-depth study of personal nature, power and influence of leadership, contingency approaches and theories. It also covers such topics as morality of leadership, followership, organizational design and leading change.
LEAD 2301 is a three-credit course offered during the spring semester from 8:45-11:30 a.m. at the Preston Ridge Campus, 9700 Wade Blvd. in Frisco.
The course doesn't require a prerequisite and will feature lectures, guest speakers, student facilitation and team projects.
As part of the application packet, students must have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average and submit an academic transcript, along with two letters of recommendation and an essay.
