Parent Workshop Gives The ABC's Of College Readiness
January 22, 2008 – College preparation does not just entail the student - but also the parent.
With this in mind, Collin College's Destination College will host its annual Parent Workshop from 6-8:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Spring Creek Campus Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.
The college planning and preparation process has become much more than simply completing application forms during the senior year of high school. Many parents want to be involved in helping their child navigate this complex path to college but do not know the details of the process.
Over dinner, parents will participate in fast-paced sessions covering a variety of topics including college planning timelines, choosing and applying to colleges, paying for college with financial aid and more. The information given will be applicable to universities and colleges in general.
Attendees will receive a copy of the 2008 Parent Workshop Resource Guide. The event is free and open to parents of high school-aged students.
Register by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
