Knowledge is Power Series Takes on Biofuels

April 2, 2008 - The Collin College Knowledge is Power Lecture Series always includes subjects of current interest.

The spring installment is no different.

Dr. Jon Hardesty, professor of chemistry, and Dr. Debra St. John, professor of political science, will present "Farming for Fuel: Will Biofuels Work?" from 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, at the Preston Ridge Campus Event Center, 9700 Wade Blvd. in Frisco.

The event is free and open to the public.

The two professors will give an evaluation of the positive and negative aspects of fuels derived from biomass feedstock as well as the various pros and cons in the context of our current national energy situation and how biofuels may or may not contribute to alleviating the energy problems facing the nation and society.

The Knowledge is Power lecture series pairs professors from different academic arenas into one discussion about a topic relevant in global current issues.
