The Sound Of Music: Arts Gallery Hosts Interactive Exhibit

January 26, 2009 - THE ARTS gallery will host a new show titled "String Resonance" from Tuesday, Jan. 20-Saturday, Feb. 7.

"String Resonance" is an interactive installation by Collin College professor of music Chris Morgan inspired by Ellen Fullman's "Long String Instrument." The showcase entails visitors touching strings that create unique musical drones filling the gallery space. Computer-controlled electronics also will excite the strings to resonate on their own.

Due to adverse weather conditions, the reception is now set for 6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3 at the gallery, which is located at the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.

THE ARTS gallery hours are: Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

For more information about this show or future shows, visit the gallery's website at www.collin.edu/THEARTSgallery or call 972.881.5873.
