Pre-Admission Partner Program Nets Two State Awards

May 22, 2009 – Collin College took home two Successful Transfer Enhancement Programs (STEP) awards for its pre-admission program at the Texas Transfer Success Conference May 22.

The program won bronze in both the Student Services and Development and Collaboration Between Two- and Four-Year Colleges categories.

Public and private colleges and universities from around the state competed in six different categories judged externally from outside the state of Texas.

Collin College started the pre-admission partnerships in 2000 with the University of North Texas and The University of Texas at Dallas. Since then, the college has entered partnerships with Austin College, Baylor University, Dallas Baptist University, Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas Tech University and Texas Woman’s University.

As part of the agreements, participating students finish their first two years at Collin College and enjoy varying university perks including guaranteed tuition, seamless transfer of credits, advising from the partner institution, passes to lectures and sporting events, access to partner facilities and more.
