Collin College Offers New Hybrid Courses
Aug. 4, 2009 – If you are a student who prefers the flexibility of an online class plus want the support offered by in-person classes, then Collin College’s new hybrid courses offered this fall are the perfect solution.
The hybrid classes combine online and on-campus instruction while meeting in the classroom once a week and spending the remaining class time online.
“A hybrid course provides a student with face-to-face engagement with the professor and other students,” Dr. Barbara Coan, dean of academic affairs at Collin College’s Preston Ridge Campus, said. “It also provides the convenience and freedom of completing half of the work online 24/7. Students who aren't quite ready for a completely online environment and need the campus interaction will enjoy this type of class.”
Hybrid courses range from a variety of core classes, including English, History and Government to Psychology, Speech, Sociology and Humanities.
To find a hybrid course, visit www.collin.edu/eschedule and select fall 2009 credit term. Then, select all of the subjects in the subject box and select “hybrid” for schedule type, then search.
