SMU, Collin College Accept 10 Into Pre-Admission Program
October 20, 2009 – Southern Methodist University (SMU) accepted 10 Collin College students into its highly-selective pre-admission program.
The program is a partnership that Collin College has with SMU to provide a seamless transfer of credits for those qualified students who are interested in earning their bachelor’s degree at SMU after finishing their first two years at Collin College.
This year’s honorees are: Arshad Bumbia (Murphy), Amanda Colon (McKinney), Joshua Dytko (McKinney), Sterling Ericsson (Frisco), Andrew Kohut (Plano), Michael Lundie (Plano), Cody Mains (Rowlett), Vanessa Stevens (Fairview), Shirin Tavakoli (Plano) and David Yu (Plano).
A reception to honor the students will take place in October at Collin College.
The Collin College/SMU pre-admission program provides many perks for the accepted students including access to SMU advisors, scholarship opportunities, tickets to lectures, a DART pass, access to the SMU library, a discount to the SMU computer store and more.
Collin College has entered similar agreements with Austin College, Baylor University, Dallas Baptist University, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas Tech University, Texas Woman’s University, The University of Texas at Dallas and the University of North Texas.
