Bytes And Bites: Career Workshop Focuses On Culinary Arts, Hospitality
October 30, 2009 – An upcoming Career Bytes workshop allows attendees to taste test the world of culinary arts and hospitality.
The workshop highlighting Collin College’s Institute for Hospitality and Culinary Education (IHCE) is set from noon-1:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 13, beginning at the Preston Ridge Campus Event Center and ending with a tour of the IHCE facility. The campus is located at 9700 Wade Blvd., in Frisco.
Career Bytes is an educational program that is tailored towards current Collin College students and focuses on educating these students about different associate of applied science
(AAS) majors and how they can translate those majors into real-world careers.
Future Career Bytes workshops will feature criminal justice, 3D animation and child development.
During each session, business professionals will discuss their careers highlighting the demands and education requirements to pursue such paths. Faculty and staff from the IHCE will provide an overview of their programs and degrees offered and how each can apply towards a career in that particular field.
Collin College Co-op will also be present to help the students understand the link between co-op jobs, their courses at Collin College and the business world.
Each session is free. Food and drinks will be provided.
