Keep The Dream Alive: Celebration Of Dr. King’s Vision Scheduled

January 15, 2010 – Collin County residents can celebrate the legacy and remember the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during upcoming events.  

Collin College and city of Plano are partnering to celebrate Dr. King’s dream and passion for peace and understanding.

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day events, which are free and open to the public, include:

  • Individuals, organizations, churches, businesses, schools and other groups are invited to join in the Unity Walk for a Day of Nonviolence, Saturday, Jan. 16. Assemblage will take place at 8:45 a.m. at the Plano Housing Authority, 1740 Avenue G, in Plano. The walk begins at 9:45 a.m.
  • The annual Community Leadership Breakfast will take place 7:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 18, at the Collin College Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway, in Plano. The panel discussion will include local dignitaries and students, and is open to the public to share ideas, thoughts and stories as a means to creating a flow of dialogue and voice concerns, hopes and inspiration.
