Child Development Highlighted In Career Bytes Series

January 28, 2010 – Individuals interested in working with children should consider an upcoming free workshop.

As part of Collin College’s Career Bytes workshop series, child development faculty will be on hand to discuss the educational and career opportunities related to the discipline – and in and outside the classroom.

The workshop is free and open to the public and is set for noon-1:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 12, at the Spring Creek Campus Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway. Lunch and refreshments will be served.

Career Bytes is an educational program that is tailored towards current Collin College students and focuses on educating these students about different associate of applied science

(AAS) majors and how they can translate those majors into real-world careers.

Future Career Bytes workshops will feature criminal justice and 3D animation in March and April, respectively.

The Career Bytes workshops include business professionals discussing the demands and opportunities in the field. In addition, child development faculty will provide an overview of Collin College’s program and how they apply toward a career.

Collin College Co-op will also be present to help the students understand the link between co-op jobs, their courses at Collin College and the business world.
