Gallery Exhibit Intertwines History, Art

January 29, 2010 – The newest exhibition at THE ARTS gallery showcases the broad and illuminating common threads between art and art history.

“Intersections: Art and Art History” will feature a number of media and artists including Rebecca Boatman, Cathy Cotter-Smith, Nancy Ferro, Merry Fuhrer, Sunny Jacquet, Marty and Richard Ray, Betty Siber, Don Schol and Silvia Thorton. The exhibition runs from Monday, Feb. 8-Saturday, Feb. 27. THE ARTS gallery is located at the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.

A reception for the show is scheduled for 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the gallery.  Schol will discuss the impact of art history on his artwork during artist’s talks at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. during the reception.

THE ARTS gallery hours are: Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
