Pre-Admission Partners Under Spotlight In Free Workshop

February 16, 2010 – Collin College has 10 pre-admission partnerships with local colleges and universities, and students can get to know all of them at an upcoming workshop hosted by Destination College and Transfer Programs.

Representatives from each pre-admission partner will provide information about their program’s benefits, application process, financial aid, scholarships and ways to prepare for college from 6-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, at the Spring Creek Campus Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.

The workshop is free and open to any future college student and their parents.

Collin College’s pre-admission partners are Austin College, Baylor University, Dallas Baptist University, Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas Tech University, Texas Woman’s University, The University of Texas at Dallas and the University of North Texas.

University representatives will meet with students and parents during individual breakout sessions and host information tables. Collin College will also host academic advising and admission information tables.

Pre-admission partnerships allow students to finish their first two years at Collin College while utilizing university advising, facility access and a number of other perks. Participating in the different agreements ensures seamless transfer of credits.

Destination College is a Collin College initiative that helps high school students and their parents to get ready for college, no matter which institution they choose. Transfer Programs also aids in that process.  Visit  www.collin.edu/transferu for more information.
