Workshop Helps Students, Parents Transition From High School To College

February 23, 2010 – The transition from high school to a college or university is not easy. Collin College’s Destination College wants to help ease that transition.

The workshop “From High School to College: A Time of Transition for Students and Parents” is set for 6:30-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, at the Spring Creek Campus Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.

The workshop is free and open to students and parents. It does not matter where the student plans to attend.

The bridge between high school and college requires adjustments for both child and parents. Collin College counseling staff will speak to those in attendance about this transition and offer tips on making it as smooth as possible.

Destination College is a Collin College initiative that helps high school students and their parents to get ready for college, no matter which institution they choose.

This event is one of a series of workshops scheduled to help high school students prepare for college
