Auteur Series Screens ‘The Last Picture Show’

March 18, 2010 – The Auteur Film Series heads to deep west Texas for its upcoming screening as part of its “Meta-Cinema: Movies About The Movies” theme.

The series will show The Last Picture Show, at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 1, at the Angelika Film Center, located at The Shops at Legacy, 7205 Bishop Road in Plano.

The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited. Some material may not be suitable for all audiences. The film is not rated. The film will be followed by a panel discussion led by Collin College faculty and staff.

The Last Picture Show chronicles the death of the small town and the friendship between two young men, Sonny and Duane, as they court girls, watch movies and stand at the precipice of deciding what they'll do with the rest of their lives.

Education Through Film is a collaboration between the Auteur Film Series and the Center for Scholarly and Civic Engagement.
