Collin Theatre Center Kicks Off World Premiere Of New Stage Adaptation Of “Cruel Intentions”

April 19, 2010 - The Collin Theatre Center on the Collin College Spring Creek Campus is currently putting the final touches on the closing production of its 2009-2010 season, the world premiere of the new stage adaptation Cruel Intentions.

Adapted for the stage and directed by Robin Armstrong, Cruel Intentions is the story of a pair of unscrupulous siblings engaging in a sexy tale of seduction, revenge and conquest.  After cleverly seducing and ruining the reputation of an unsuspecting classmate, the sparks fly when Kathryn poses the ultimate challenge to her insatiable step-brother Sebastian. If he loses, Kathryn gets his Jaguar, if he wins, he gets Kathryn. Before the summer is over, no one will escape their relentless game of cat and mouse . . . until one of them is bitten by the most unlikely sensation of all-- Love! Cruel Intentions is based on one of literature's greatest and most notorious novels, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, by Choderlos de Laclos.

Tickets are selling quickly for this performance, and the Friday April 30th performance is currently sold out. Cruel Intentions opens Thursday April 29, and is scheduled to run through May 9th. Ticket prices are $6 for students and $8 for adults. Performances are April 29 - 30, May 1 and May 5 - 8 at 8 p.m., as well as May 2 and May 8 - 9 at 2:15 p.m. The May 2 and May 7 performances are sign interpreted for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing patrons.
