Auteur Film Series Talks (in)justice With Daytime Screening
November 1, 2010 – The Auteur Film Series will screen the film In the Name of the Father as part of its 2010-11 “Rough and Poetic: Great Films About (In)Justice” theme.
The film will be shown for free at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 15, at the Living Legends Conference Center at the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.
In the Name of the Father chronicles the imprisonment of Gerry Conlon, a petty thief from Belfast, and his father, who are falsely implicated in an IRA bombing. The film is based on a true story and shows Conlon’s pursuit to clear his and his father’s name.
The event is open to the public. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Seating is limited and some material may not be suitable for all audiences. In the Name of the Father is rated R and runs 133 minutes.
