Collin College LULAC Chapter Sweeps District Awards

April 20, 2011 – Collin College’s chapter of the League for United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) took home an armful of awards from its District III Convention April 2 in Garland.

Francisco Luevano was named the Young Adult Man of the Year and Cristina Garcia was named the Young Adult Woman of the Year.

Lupita Tinnen, chair and professor of photography, was named the Young Adult Advisor of the Year.

Also, the Collin College chapter was named the Young Adult Council of the Year.

On the district level, Collin College has won the Young Adult Woman award five times, Young Adult Man five times, Council of the Year four times and Advisor of the year seven times.

Collin College LULAC will compete at the LULAC Texas Convention June 2-5 in Killeen.
