Honor Firefighters With Special E-Cards

August 18, 2011 – Collin College challenges everyone to make a statement to those that keep our communities safe as the country commemorates the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

The college and the Texas Campus Compact have joined together to promote a statewide initiative: “Live. Learn. Serve. Remember.”

Collin College encourages everyone to fill out a Firefighter Appreciation E-Card. Once submitted, the cards will be distributed to area fire chiefs.

Each e-card is a vote of appreciation to our local firefighters, letting them know what they mean to the community as we all remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

Also, the e-card includes a pledge to commit to fire safety and education in the home and the community.

Send an e-card now by going to www.texascampuscompact.org through Oct. 15.

Contact Fire Science Director Pat McAuliff at pmcauliff@collin.edu or 972.548.6836, or the Center for Scholarly and Civic Engagement at csce@collin.edu or 972.881.5927 for more information.

Collin College serves more than 51,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs. The only public college in the county, Collin College is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development.
