Honor 9/11 at Collin College
August 29, 2011 – The community is welcome to join Collin College students, faculty and staff in honoring and remembering the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks during an upcoming ceremony.
In accordance with the 10th anniversary of the attacks, Collin College is hosting a ceremony at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 9, at the Central Park Campus, 2200 W. University Drive in McKinney, adjacent to the campus’ parking garage.
The ceremony will include a processional by a Drum and Pipe Corps from area fire departments. Also, a remnant, a 90-pound piece of steel, from one of the World Trade Center buildings will be on display.
In honor of those who lost their lives, a final alarm signal bell will be sounded by the members of McKinney Fire Department Truck 2.
