Auteur Film Series' 'Wasteland' Theme Continues

September 22, 2011 – Collin College’s 2011-12 Auteur Film Series will screen Pedro Almodovar’s Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown at 2:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 3.

The film is the latest installment of this year’s series focusing on TV in film with the theme of “Films From the Wasteland: TV and the Recline(r) of Civilization.”

An homage to telenovelas, the film features Pepa, a Spanish television actress, who is abandoned by her lover. Pepa’s emotions run wild. Lives get intertwined in his humorous tale.

The screening will be at the Living Legends Conference Center at the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.

All Auteur Film Series screenings are free and open to the public.

The film runs 90 minutes. Some material may not be suitable for all audiences.
