Quiz Show Slated as Next Film in Series

October 13, 2011 – The Auteur Film Series will feature the film Quiz Show at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27 at the Preston Ridge Campus.

Quiz Show is the latest installment of this year’s series focusing on TV in film with the theme of “Films From the Wasteland: TV and the Recline(r) of Civilization.”

Quiz Show is directed by Robert Redford and delves into the rigging of the TV quiz show, Twenty One. The key contestants – a well-educated, upper-class WASP and a working-class Jewish man – grapple with the network’s idea of winners.

The screening is free and open to the public. It will take place in Room F249 of the Preston Ridge Campus, located at 9700 Wade Blvd. in Frisco.

The film runs 133 minutes. Some material may not be suitable for all audiences.
