Four! Mock Trial Team Reaches Nationals

The Collin Cougar Mock Trial team made it to the American Mock Trial Association Championship series for the fourth year in a row, the only two-year institution to do so in the country. The team includes Camile Dickerson, Michelle Davis, An Nguyen, Kimberly Smith, Chris Arnell, Gaea Ferrer, Chris Horton and faculty sponsor professor Robert Franklin.

February 22, 2012 – For the fourth consecutive year, Collin College’s Mock Trial team is making history.

The squad is advancing to the American Mock Trial Association Championship Series for the fourth straight year. Collin College was the only two-year institution to go three straight times to national competition. Now, they have set the bar higher with their fourth trip. This year’s Championship Series is March 23 in Memphis.

The Mock Trial team consists of Chris Arnell of Allen, An Nguyen of Richardson, Kimberly Smith of Rowlett, Gaea Ferrer of Plano, Michelle Davis of Allen, Camille Dickerson of Plano and Chad Horton of Plano.

The Collin College Mock Trial team advanced by finishing seventh in the Mock Trial Regionals in Houston where they beat teams from Baylor University, The University of Texas, Texas A&M University, University of Houston, Tulane University, The University of Texas at Dallas and others.

Collin College will compete against 600 other colleges and universities at the Championship Series. In 2009, Collin College was the first two-year institution to qualify for nationals.
