Collin College Plans Earth Day Activities
April 2, 2012 – In celebration of Earth Day, Collin College invites the public to help “Mobilize our Earth” by participating in the college’s free annual Earth Week celebration from April 14-21 at the Central Park, Preston Ridge and Spring Creek campuses.
The highlight of the college’s Earth Week events takes place from 11-2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18 at the Preston Ridge Campus, 9700 Wade Blvd., in Frisco, where attendees will receive “green” information and have opportunities to recycle.
Other activities will include music and dance, art exhibits, vendor booths and games. Participants are also encouraged to bring a blanket and a picnic lunch, weather permitting.
In addition to the aforementioned activities, the following Earth Week activities are scheduled for each campus:
- Student project showcases
- YERT movie screening with panel discussion
- Earth-friendly Days of Service
- World Wear Project bins “Turn shoes and clothing green!”
