Oncor Presents Collin College $18,692 Incentive Check

According to Board of Trustees Chair Mac Hendricks, “Collin College has been fortunate to benefit from Oncor’s Educational Facilities program in the past, and with this check, Oncor has presented the district with a total of $58,541 in qualified rebates. We applaud Oncor for this partnership.”
Collin College’s energy efficiency upgrade reduces emissions by 162 metric tons CO2 and is equivalent to CO2 emissions from the electricity use of 20 homes in one year.
“Energy efficiency efforts have been a priority at Collin College and will continue to be because they not only result in savings but also provide a better college community and experience for our students,” District President Cary Israel said.
Oncor’s Educational Facilities program provides rebates for renovation or new construction projects including the installation of qualified energy efficient equipment or fixtures. Collin College has qualified for rebates on several projects, including the new conference center and classroom building at the Preston Ridge Campus as well as lighting and HVAC systems at the Collin Higher Education Center in McKinney and remodeling of the college’s Courtyard Center in Plano. These
Future college projects that may qualify include campus renovations and a new library building under construction at Spring Creek Campus in Plano as well a garage lighting retrofit project at the Courtyard Center.
Collin College serves about 53,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs. The only public college in the county, Collin College is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development.
