Poverty Simulation Comes To Collin College
October 29, 2013 - To educate individuals about the realities and challenges of living in poverty. Collin College is offering a poverty simulation from 6-10 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Collin College Preston Ridge Campus Conference Center, 9700 Wade Boulevard in Frisco. Free and open to the public and facilitated by Region 10 Educational Center, the interactive simulation is an experience where participants pretend to be members of a low-income community and try to survive four 15-minute weeks of poverty in a town setting with institutions including a police station, pawn shop, bank, social security office and church.... October 24, 2013 - Collin College's Auteur Film Series will screen "Life of Pi" at 7 p.m. on Nov. 18 at Angelika Film Center in Plano. The free screening, part of this year's "Abandoned by Reason: Six Great Fantasy Films" theme, tells the story of Pi Patel.
