"A Merry Jewish Christmas" Premiers Regionally at Collin College
December 4, 2013 - “A Merry Jewish Christmas” by Josh Levine, a new, non-traditional holiday show, will make its regional premier Dec. 5-15 at the Collin College Spring Creek Campus Black Box Theatre.
A comedy, the play explores the wondrous and complicated truths of family life. David, the main character, has lied to pretty much everyone around him, and it is bound to explode in his face when his family gathers at his apartment to celebrate Chanukah. The show centers around two main questions: Will David’s boyfriend succeed at pretending to be Jewish? Will David reveal the truth of his relationship to his family?

Levine is an adjunct screenwriting professor at Rutgers University and completed a residency at SPACE on Ryder Farm. He was the recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for Comedic Writing for his play “Homemade” and served as a Kennedy Center Playwriting Fellow at O’Neill National Playwrights Conference.
