Collin College Hosts "Getting Started at Collin College: For New Students"

March 6, 2014 – Beginning college means new courses, new facilities, new resources, new rules and new opportunities. To prevent these changes from becoming overwhelming, Collin College’s Destination College Department will hold its “Getting Started at Collin College: For New Students” workshop from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 20 in the Living Legends Conference Center at the Spring Creek Campus in Plano, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway.

Ideal for students entering Collin College in the summer or fall of 2014, workshop attendees will be guided through each step of the “getting started” process, from admissions to advising and financial aid.

Destination College Coordinator Brooke Ingersoll said the session is meant to serve as a prequel to freshmen orientations.

“As they enter college, many students are unsure where to begin,” Ingersoll said. “This workshop introduces them to individuals and resources that can help along the way.”

Please note: No dual credit information will be discussed during the session. While this event is free to attend, registration is required. To register, visit www.collin.edu/destinationcollege. For questions, call 972.377.1772.

Collin College serves nearly 53,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs.
