Nurse Camp Gives Real-World Experience

May 30, 2014 – Students interested in pursuing a career in nursing can receive hands-on experience through Collin College’s annual Nurse Camp.

The camp is from 9 a.m. – noon from Monday, June 16 – Wednesday, June 18 at the Central Park Campus, located at 2200 W University Dr, McKinney.

Nurse Camp is free and open to any student between the eighth and 11th grade. This unique opportunity allows students to experience the excitement and challenges of being a nurse, a high demand occupation in Texas. The program will provide information about the nursing profession and allows students to see nurses in action.

Participants will:

  • Assist medical personnel with simulations and sensory activities
  • View demonstrations regarding neonatal, emergency and adaptive care
  • Learn about the many nursing careers
  • Meet personnel from the field and students involved in nurse training and more.
