Last Chance to Register for Fall Classes
August 1, 2014- Registration for the fall 2014 semester closes in just a few short weeks. Fortunately, those who need to speak with a staff member in admissions, advising, the International Student Office or financial Aid prior to the Aug. 26 registration deadline can now do so easily with CougarQ.
No waiting in lines
CougarQ is the college's new virtual queuing system that helps students maximize their time by eliminating the need for waiting in physical lines. CougarQ allows students to sign up in a virtual line through the college's website at www.Collin.edu/CougarQ or via phone by texting "collincpc," "collinprc" or "collinscc" to 310.494.2718. Standard text rates may apply. Sign-in is also available at conveniently located CougarQ campus kiosks. When it is time to meet with a staff member, the system notifies the student using an automated message and by posting to a designated CougarQ campus monitor.
Tori Hoffman, academic advisor at the Central Park Campus, said she has received very positive student feedback regarding CougarQ.
"Students like knowing the wait time and not being tied to the office," Hoffman said. "The ability to sign into more than one office at a time is also something they find very helpful."
During its first two weeks of operation CougarQ has registered 11,172 service transactions.
Online registration is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week through CougarWeb, unless otherwise noted. Students can also view the latest version of the e-schedule outside of the portal at www.collin.edu/academics/class_schedule.html .
