Collin College Hosts Debate Watch Events

Sept. 12, 2014 – Encouraging civic engagement and informed decision making, Collin College will host Debate Watch events for the Texas gubernatorial candidates Sept. 29-30 at all three main campus conference centers.

All are invited to watch a big screen presentation of the live-stream debates and engage in respectful, interactive discussion.

Candidates for Lieutenant Governor, State Senator Dan Patrick (R) and State Senator Leticia Van de Putte (D), will debate from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29. Texas gubernatorial candidates, Lt. Governor Greg Abbott (R) and State Senator Wendy Davis (D) will debate from 8 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Doors open 30 minutes before each event.

Collin College's campus conference rooms will be open for both debates. Campus locations:

· Central Park Campus Conference Center, 2200 W. University Drive in McKinney

· Preston Ridge Campus Conference Center, 9700 Wade Blvd in Frisco

· Spring Creek Campus Living Legends Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano

This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
