Collin College Honors Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

January 14, 2015 – To celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream and celebrate efforts for peace and equality, Collin College will host a Power Breakfast at 8 a.m. this Saturday at the Spring Creek Campus Conference Center with the theme of "Empowerment Through Involvement."

The ceremony will feature table discussions, announcement of the winners of the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Scholarship and a performance by Collin College students.

The full schedule of events for Plano's celebration for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. includes:

  • 8 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 17: MLK Power Breakfast, Collin College Spring Creek Campus, Living Legends Conference Center

  • 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 17: MLK Business and Information Fair, Collin College Spring Creek Campus Atrium

  • 6 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 18: MLK All Community Musical, Chase Oaks Church

  • 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 19: Community Unity Walk, DART Rail Parker Road Station

  • 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 22: Plano ISD MLK Tribute, Williams High School
