Auteur Film Series features "Au Revoir les Enfants (Goodbye, Children)"

March 9, 2015 – Collin College's 2014-2015 Auteur Film Series continues with “Au Revoir Les Enfants (Goodbye, Children)” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 19 at the Spring Creek Campus Living Legends Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano .

“Au Revoir Les Enfants (Goodbye, Children)” revolves around a student at a Catholic boarding school during the Nazi occupation of France who befriends a Jewish student living at the school under an assumed “Catholic” identity.

“It’s a work that has the kind of simplicity, ease and density of detail that only a filmmaker in total command of his craft can bring off, and then only rarely,” said New York Times critic Vincent Canby.

The current “Education and Other Dangerous Things” theme focuses on films which deal with issues of class, ethnic and cultural differences, and how they affect important periods in the education of young people. A panel discussion featuring Collin College faculty and staff will follow the film.

The screening is free and open to the public. Doors open 30 minutes before the film begins, and seating is limited. Some material may not be suitable for all audiences.
