Collin College Board Appoints New Trustee to Place 5

Oct. 25, 2016 – Tonight, the Collin College Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Dr. Raj Menon of Plano to fill a board vacancy for Place 5 previously held by Stacy Anne Arias.

Menon, who has lived in Collin County for 19 years, is a business executive who serves as president and CEO of Flat World Design. He previously worked for Capital One Auto Finance, Intigma, Diamond Technology Partners and Trinity Consultants.

He holds a Master of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). He earned three degrees from The University of Texas at Austin--a Master of Science degree in chemical engineering, a Master of Business Administration and a Ph.D.

His board experience includes service on the Medical Center of Plano, Plano Symphony Orchestra Board, Atlantic Housing Foundation Board in Dallas and the IIT Alumni Association Board of North Texas. He also has been active in the community through The University of Texas at Dallas Eric Johnson School of Engineering and Computer Science Advisory Board, Leadership Plano Executive Board, the Preston Green Homeowners Association and multiple boards and committees in the Plano Independent School District.

Collin College serves more than 53,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degrees and certificates in a wide range of disciplines. The only public college in the county, Collin College is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development. In addition, the college operates the Collin Higher Education Center, which serves 3,300 additional students each year in partnership with The University of Texas at Dallas, Texas Woman’s University, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas Tech and the University of North Texas.
