Local Information Security Systems Association Donates Funds for Collin College Scholarships

NTXISSA Scholarship Donation PresentationMarch 2, 2017-The North Texas chapter of the Information Security Systems Association (NTXISSA) recently donated more than $7,000 to the Collin College Foundation.

Collin College and the NTXISSA forged a partnership three years ago for the benefit of students. The organization holds an annual cyber security conference at the college, and funds are donated to the college for student scholarships. To date, the NTXISSA has donated more than $21,000. The recent donation places NTXISSA in the college’s President’s Circle of Giving, a distinction for donors with more than $20,000 in cumulative giving.

“This is a great partnership because it brings the industry professionals and academia together to share information and work together to learn and solve issues while providing a path for students to attend classes,” said William Whitney, former president of the NTXISSA. “This in turn strengthens the industry by allowing more individuals to learn and practice cyber security both at the college and industry experience level.”
