Collin College Launches Collin Corporate College

Collin Corporate College OfficeSeptember 26, 2017 – Now in its second year after a soft launch in 2016, the Collin Corporate College recently introduced its corporate training capabilities to business leaders from the region at an open house at the Courtyard Center in Plano.

Collin Corporate College offers customized training in several business areas, such as technology, technical skills, leadership, organizational effectiveness, team building, employee engagement, and performance management.

"The focus of the Collin Corporate College is not just companies, organizations or institutions," said Dr. Neil Matkin, Collin College district president. "The focus is on people. We're here to help companies develop their most important asset by providing relevant training for their colleagues."

According to Dr. Jennifer Blalock, Collin College vice president of workforce & economic development, the corporate college offers flexible delivery models, including classes at the Courtyard Center in Plano, Collin's three main campuses in McKinney, Plano and Frisco, or on site at a client's corporate facilities.

"We can accommodate staffing and production schedules to minimize impact and maximize return," said Blalock. "We want to be the first choice for training and development in Collin County by earning the respect and establishing the value that ongoing corporate training can provide."

Adam Pitluk, Collin Corporate College executive director, said the college is poised to exceed expectations by providing quality training and measuring impact.

"We will go the extra mile to provide the right subject matter expert and create the most effective corporate training plan for our business and industry partners," said Pitluk.

The open house included a review of the scheduled 2017 Fall Corporate Trainings as well as hands-on demonstrations by several of the Collin Corporate College's training partners.

For example, Metrics2Results in Frisco is a consulting group that focuses on inclusion and professional development in the workplace.

Collin College serves more than 53,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degrees and certificates. The only public college in the county, Collin College is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development. In addition, the college operates the Collin Higher Education Center, which serves 3,000 additional students each year in partnership with The University of Texas at Dallas, Texas Woman's University, Texas A&M Commerce, Texas Tech and the University of North Texas.
